Chiles 6, Rickards 0

January 4, 2005

Chiles took on the Rickards Raiders Tuesday, January 4 at the Chiles pitch.  This was the second meeting of the two squads this year.  In the first meeting Rickards was taking it to the Chiles side before Chiles woke up and finally prevailed, 4-1.  The boys, having just returned from a successful trip to the Hickory Point Tournament, wanted to make sure they came out ready to play and they controlled the game from the opening whistle.

Although Chiles was controlling the game they could not find the back of the net until the 21st minute, when Drew Eppes played a ball to Tyler Williams who was able to pound it past the keeper.  Later, in the 33rd minute of the match Gary Warner found CJ Heard across the front of the box who was able to bury it in, putting Chiles up 2-0 at the half.

Chiles continued its control in the second half and the goals started happening.  In an 11 minute span the boys added 4 goals: at the 49th minute Bryan Allen was taken down in the box and Gary Warner easily slammed the penalty kick home putting Chiles up 3-0.  Just a minute later CJ Heard collected the ball and made it 4-0.  Five minutes later, at the 55 minute mark, Kicker Renwick passed the ball to Warner who made it 5-0. Finally, in the 60th minute, Kicker Renwick slammed it in to make it 6-0.

Mike Turner was in goal for 65 minutes; Bryson Parrish in goal for 15 minutes, neither having to make a save.

It was great seeing Alumni’s Kevin Cleaver and Justin Patenaude in the stands.

Chiles’ next game is at home Friday, January 7, against Leon.
